New Pics and News From X-Men First Class
Check out this first clear pictures of James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence as a young Professor X and Mystique for X-Men First Class. It’s also rumored that the movie will reenact the opening scene of Bryan Singer’s X-Men, in which we see the future Magneto lose his parents in a Nazi concentration camp.
Mad Men Star Cast in Shelock Holmes 2
Jared Harris who plays Lane Price on AMC’s Mad Men has been cast as Moriarty in Guy Ritchie’s sequel to Sherlock Holmes. He has also starred in Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Fox’s hit Sci-Fi TV show Fringe. Some of you who were hoping for a big name may be disappointed, but personally, I think this is a great casting choice. Harris is fantastic on Mad Men and Sherlock Holmes really doesn’t need another big name actor.
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will, of course, be reprising their roles from the original. It was also announced a few days ago that Stephen Fry has joined the cast as Sherlock’s older brother Mycroft Holmes.
Black Widow Movie in the Works
Scarlett Johansson is set to star in a Black Widow movie spin off. She’ll be reprising the role she portrayed in Iron Man 2 this past summer.
SuperHeroHype reports:
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that discussions are already in the works to have Scarlett Johansson reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in a Black Widow spinoff film, though the project will take a backburner while The Avengers is in development.
“We’ve already started discussions with Scarlett about the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts,” said Feige in a press conference for the Iron Man 2 Blu-ray/DVD today, “but ‘The Avengers’ comes first.”
Johansson is reprising her role as the character in the ensemble film, heading into production with Joss Whedon at the helm and planned for a summer 2012 release.
She didn’t add anything to Iron Man 2 other then another set of boobs to look at. I’m surprised she’s getting her own movie.
Voltron Concept Art
Check out concept art for the new live action Voltron. It looks like they are going the Transformers route.
New Martin Scorsese Mob Movie
Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are now being tied to a new movie being developed by Martin Scorses and Robert De Niro. It’s called the Irishman and it’s a mob drama based on the book, “I Heard You Paint Houses”, which chronicles the exploits of mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran.
GoodFellas and Casino are two of the best movies ever made so any movie directed by Scorsese and starring Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro will be a guaranteed hit. Throw in Al Pacino and you’ve got an instant classic. Now, if they could only find a part for Ray Liotta…
